Additional services
Capacity — Additional services are the extras sold alongside a crossing — cabins, meals, lounge access, pets — each with its own capacity so it never oversells.
All modulesBORA Systems is a ferry operations platform built in Tallinn, Estonia — 33 modules across 6 functional categories, each on its own microservice with a local API. Certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and GDPR-compliant. As of 2026, in daily service across three regions: the Baltic, the Channel Islands and the Persian Gulf.
What does it do?
Additional services are everything sold beyond the crossing itself — a cabin upgrade, a meal, lounge access, a pet space. Each is a product with its own capacity, so a sold-out cabin block stops selling like any other limited resource.
Because ancillaries share the booking and the ledger, an extra is part of the same reservation and the same revenue picture, not a separate sale to reconcile.
How does it work?
Define
Each ancillary is defined as a product with its own capacity.
Limit
A limited extra — a cabin block, lounge seats — has its own remaining count.
Sell
An ancillary is added to the same reservation as the ticket.
Settle
Its revenue settles into the same ledger as every other sale.
What does it connect to?
Additional services is sold by Sales, priced by Dynamic pricing and settled through Payment gateway.
Additional services exposes a local API so an operator can manage its ancillary catalogue.
What are its limits?
What it deliberately does not do:
- Additional services handles ferry ancillaries with capacity; it is not a full retail or hospitality PMS.
- Additional services sells extras against a crossing; the crossing's own capacity is Inventory and Vehicles.
