What does it do?
Inventory is the single description of what the fleet can carry. Each vessel, each deck, each weight and boarding limit is described once, in one place, and every other module reads from it rather than keeping its own copy.
Inventory is what lets a price, a gate assignment and a manifest all agree: they are all working from the same description of the ship.

What does it connect to?
Everything reads it: Dynamic pricing prices against it, the vehicle gate measures against it, Access control counts against it.
Inventory exposes a local API so an operator's own fleet-management system can read or write the same description.
What are its limits?
What it deliberately does not do:
- Inventory describes capacity; it does not schedule sailings — the timetable lives alongside it, not inside it.
- Inventory is not a maintenance or dry-dock system: it holds what a vessel can carry, not its service record.
