What does it do?
The on-board PoS is the point of sale that runs while the ship is at sea — the cafe, the shop, a ticket sold to a foot passenger who boarded without one. Everything it sells lands in the same ledger as a sale made at the terminal or online.
On-board PoS single ledger is the point: revenue from the crossing is not a separate spreadsheet to merge at the end of the day, it is already part of the same picture Reporting draws from.

What does it connect to?
On-board PoS settles through Payment gateway and reports through Reporting, using prices from Dynamic pricing.
On-board PoS runs on standard POS terminals and card readers.
What are its limits?
What it deliberately does not do:
- On-board PoS depends on the vessel's own connectivity for live card authorization; offline card sales fall back to the terminal's store-and-forward, within the operator's risk policy.
- On-board PoS is not a full retail inventory system for a large onboard shop — it handles ferry-scale catalogues, not a supermarket.
Frequently asked questions
Can it sell tickets as well as goods?
Yes. A foot passenger who boarded without a ticket can buy one at the on-board PoS, settled into the same ledger.
How does it handle card payments at sea?
Live where the vessel has connectivity, and store-and-forward within the operator's risk policy where it doesn't.
Does onboard revenue need merging later?
No. It settles into the same ledger, so Reporting already includes it.
