What does it do?
Catalog is the reference data the rest of the system agrees on — the attributes, the supported languages, the nationalities, the age categories a fare can depend on. Defined once here, it keeps every module speaking the same vocabulary.
Because the reference data is shared, an age category or a language added here is available to pricing, documents and notifications at once, without re-entry.
