What does it do?
Ledger records the money side as double-entry accounting — an immutable journal where every sale, refund and settlement lands, with customer and credit accounts kept in balance. It is the accounting truth beneath the operational ledger.
Because entries are immutable, the financial record is auditable end to end: nothing is edited in place, corrections are new entries, and the position always reconciles.
